Japanese Indigo Dyeing
Immerse yourself in traditional Japanese indigo dyeing using locally, organically grown sukumo plants. You can dye natural fiber clothes such as cotton, linen or rayon. We offer a variety of scarf sizes in stock, or you’re welcome to bring one of your choice.

History of Japanese Indigo : Indigo craftsman gives a brief history and overview of Indigo dyeing techniques.

Dyeing & Rinsing : Select your material and choose your desired pattern for dyeing. Then, thoroughly rinse it in a refreshing river water.

Hiking Tour: Take a hike to the Nagusa Megaliths, a hidden power spot known to locals and often compared to the setting of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba." Enjoy the serenity of this quiet and sacred mountain.

Temple for Meditation: Visit a temple for a meditation session and engage in a Zen talk with a monk. If you are interested in Yoga or a flower arrangement lesson, those can also be arranged. Follow it up with a relaxing teatime.

Izuruhara Pond & Oku Sano Nature Tour
Izuruhara is known for its pristine spring water. It was selected one of the 100 clean waters in Japan. This tour will take you to the countyside of Sano and surrounding areas. We can build a day with your interests and choices.

Hiking at Mt. Mikamo & Flower center
Explore a local favorite mountain, Mt. Mikamo which can cater a beginner to moderate hikers and perfect spot for family (a long slide along the hill and a nice playground) a year around. There are so many local flowers and birds you can find with a local guide. Tochigi flower center is located next to Mt. Mikamo where you can stroll inside of the large glasshouse filled with flowers, tropical plants and fruits

Watarase Reservoir
